The rose-flowered Cistusvaginatus was growing plentifully at this elevation, butwas not found above ; it is rather a flower of the MonteVerde Zone. Many hundreds of acres in Tenerife arecovered with the two fodder-plants, the natives living inthe villages along the north-western slopes making longjourneys to obtain sufficient for their needs.
