Santorini caldera. Astronaut photograph of the Greek islands of Santorini (large, top), Therasia (lower left), Aspronisi (small lower centre), and the Kameni islands (centre), in the Aegean Sea (blue). These islands are all part of the largely submerged Santorini caldera, the most active part of the South Aegean Volcanic Arc. The caldera itself is composed of overlapping shield volcanoes, cut by at least four partially overlapping calderas. Imaged from onboard the International Space Station (ISS).
