ATS RECRUITING CORPORALS - Swan, A. Bradford. Joined ATS in 1939. Was a machinist in Metal Box Factory Training Centre. Worked as waitress in Sergeants' Mess. Later transferred to Sheffield and promoted to L/Cpl. i/c Orderlies in Troops Mess. In November 1941, went on Recruiting Campaign and was promoted to Recruiting Corporal. Her only brother is serving with the RASC in the Middle East. Mr. Swan, Cpl. Swan's father, served with the Northumberland Fusiliers in the first War. Her home town is Newcastle British Army
