He boughtfirst the tide mill at Eagles Nest, and thensold and bought one at Old Mill Green. Laterhe sold out and moved to the Near MillRiver, and built the first mill at what is nowcalled Pecks Mills, receiving a large grant ofland from the town. He was one of the mostactive business men in the locality. In 1657he married (first) Miriam Wheeler, daughterof Moses Wheeler, and in April, 1708, he mar-ried (second) Bathsheba Pcnsin, daughter ofStephen Pensin of Derby. He spent his last(lavs at Farmill where he built a mill. He was. ^. J^. ^/aL emoti CONNECTICUT 2143 probably buried at the top of the hill northof the present paper-mill there. His will wasdated at Oronoque, July 18, 1689, and provedNovember 7, 1689, the estate being inventoriedat four hundred and twenty pounds. (HI) Zachariah, son of James Blakeman,was born ]\Iay 26, 1678. He married, Decem-ber 24, 1704, Elizabeth Denman of Derby, andshe died in 1732. He married (second) June19 ^Irs.
