CO2 fire extinguisher. Pressurized cylinder containing carbon dioxide (CO2) gas for use in extinguishing a fire. The origins of a fire determine the extinguisher to use. This type of extinguisher can be used on electrical fires and those involving flammable liquids. The gas causes little damage to electrical equipment it is used on and does not leave any residue.
