Con-tinue to tack pieces of silk together cut into the formsof crosses, wedges, rounds, and other devices, but keepthem within the margin of a broad straight band. Addmore velvet and more coloured stripes until the founda-tion material is quite covered, then stuff the velvet withwadding to give it a raised appearance, and ornament thescraps of silk with Coral, Feather, Herringbone,and other fancy stitches in filoselle, after the i-est of thework is finished. Itis made of raw silk, gummed, and twisted on the mill, andwoven without crossing. The width is 24 inches. China Grass Cloth.—A beautiful and delicate, as wellas a very coarse description of Cloth, having its origin inChina.
