Having been to Russia for the first time I was surprised to see the rich in carbohydrates diet of the Russians. From Pelmenis to Khinkalis all sorts are served with thick sour cream. They add sour cream almost to everything, from soups to pies. As you can see in the photos at home they buy them frozen and pop them in the microwave or boil to instructions. Pretty much like they do in Brasil with Pao de Queijo, in China with steam dumplings In good restaurants of course you expect to eat freshly prepared pasta or potato dumplings.
