Tombs of the Kings. View over the ruins of the ancient necropolis known as the Tombs of the Kings, Cyprus. This complex consists of numerous underground tombs carved out of solid rock, many of which date back to the 4th Century AD. They are thought to have been the burial sites of aristocrats and high officials from Paphos, up to the 3rd Century AD. Some of the tombs are known for their Doric columns and frescoed walls. While others imitated the houses of the living. The area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
