Computer hard disc. Underside of a computer's hard drive, showing the circuit board. This piece of hardware equipment consists of a read-write head (not seen) on a hard disc that is coated on both sides with a magnetic material. Information is written and accessed by means of small electromagnets in the read-write head. The disc rotates on a central spindle and the head moves radially to access different parts of the disc. This is an internal drive, which is connected inside the computer casing.
