A Quiet Zone sign in Central Park in New York on Bethesda Terrace

A Quiet Zone sign in Central Park in New York on Bethesda Terrace in the park on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Musicians who play in the park are protesting against the crackdown by the Dept. of Parks and Recreation which prevents them from performing in "quiet zones" created by the park. Musicians have traditionally performed on Bethesda Terrace for over 100 years but the Central Park Conservancy wants to turn the area into a revenue generating food court so the enforcement officers have started ticketing performers which they claim is a violation of their free speech rights.
