Detroit, Michigan - The base of a radar tower is all that is left of a Cold War-era Nike missile site on the Detroit River near a new housing subdivision. Hundreds of the anti-aircraft missile sites were established around cities from the 1950s through the 1970s. This site controlled missiles located on Belle Isle, an island in the river.
