Endeavour is a Cockle Bawley fishing boat built in 1926 to fish for cockles in the Thames Estuary. On 31st May 1940, Endeavour with her crew and five other Leigh cockle bawleys (Renown, Reliant, Leticia, Resolute and Defender) set out for Dunkirk as a part of Operation Dynamo to assist evacuation of troops from the beaches. Endeavour was damaged and Renown lost with crew. Since restored, Endeavour has undergone winter maintenance and has just left dry dock in Leigh on Sea, Essex, UK ready to sail for anniversary events
