A Mongolian helmet and chain mail coif, Period of the Golden Horde, 14th century,. Made of four embossed, overlapping iron segments riveted together. Obvious damage, especially on the lower rim, and the riveting is loose at the top. Otherwise the metal is quite well preserved. Height 17 cm. Weight 615 g. Conserved condition as discovered. It comes with a fragment of an iron mail coif, solidified with corrosion, cleaned, and conserved. Height 17 cm. Weight 818 g.
