A hunting hanger with belt, Dresden, 19th century. Both faces of the single-edged blade fullered and etched with hunting motifs, the ricasso struck with a mark on one side. The back signed "G. F. Dämme in Dresden". Gilt brass hilt with screw-mounted ivory grip scales, the quillons terminating in hooves, the guard plate decorated with a deer hunt in relief. Leather-covered wood scabbard including by-knife and gilt brass mounts. Length cm. The original leather and silver brocade suspension with frog and gilt lion's head clasp.
