An exotic harbor scene fills this stone litho French "subscription" poster for a "Peace Loan" that could be subscribed to at the Industrial Bank of China, which had its international headquarters in Paris. By 1922, the Ambassador of France, M. Philippe Berthelot, was forced to accept a ten year retirement due to his brother's actions at the bank (he was a director), which led to the bank shuttering its doors. (Peace Loan.
