Not a few were young hands upon the wood. Thesame apology may be made for Enoch Arden (Ticknor & Fields, 1865-6). The drawings thereare by Darley, Vedder, La Farge, and Hennessy; and queer enough, except those by theaccustomed hand of Darley, they must have been. The engravers — Marsh, J. A. Bogert,Anthony, Davis, Berlett, Kilburn & Mallory, Morse, and Annin — may be forgiven for anyfailure.
