Twas my intention not to increafe, but to diminifhthefe heats,and for this end I put forth the double Cha-racter of a Papifi Mifreprefented and Reprefented. Twasthis was the defign of the Bifhop of Condom in his £jc-pofitionof the Faith of the Catholic Church, and of theClergy of France, in the Acts of the General Affemblylately publifhd. The method is inoffenfive, and freefrom provoking Reflections ; and if by this I have letthe World know what our Church Believes and Teaches,tis what I intended : And as for diiputing I leave thatto fuch, who think it worth their while.
