Southsea,Hampshire Sunday 22nd May 2016 The area around the public toilets at Southsea has been cordoned off after a person was robbed. The scene is being guarded by Police tape and a single Police officer and has been in place since the incident took place this morning (Sunday) It is believed that Police are investigating an assault and a robbery that took place this morning at the Richmond Place public convenience. A 79-year-old pensioner had his wallet robbed. Scene of crime specialists have been collecting and examining the scene at the rear of Waitrose whilst the one officer stands on scene guard. The toilet block is covered by CCTV that is pointing towards the block. A Spokesman for Hampshire Police said : A 79 year-old man was grabbed from behind in the public toilets near Waitrose, Marmion Rd, #?Southsea at around 10:30am this morning. His wallet containg £60 was taken from his back pocket. A white man, aged in his forties, who was around 6ft tall and was wearing black clothing was seen running away down Stanley Lane.
