That helped me to find the Ditchley Portrait (Queen Elizabeth I standing on a map drawn by Marcus Gheeraerts the younger, ca. 1592). The whole composition of Holiday's picture is based on the Ditchley portrait (see also the sail and the rigging in Holiday's illustration). See
