Here may beseen, either in active operation or in an extinct con-dition, almost every known variety of terrestrialphenomena. Geysers, hot springs, paint pots, sul-phur springs, and fumaroles are plentiful, and in ad-dition, may also be found cliffs of natural glass, lavabeds, great riven rocks filled with basalt, extinctvolcanoes, and petrified forests, and over amid thefastnesses of the Hoodoo Mountains and on theslopes of the great Tetons may be seen remnants ofan ancient geological period—active glaciers.
