They were sentto Camp Dix for demobilization. The 104th Engineers arrived at Hoboken on May 22,on the transport Manchuria, and were sent to CampMerritt. They were met by Robert J. D. Field andHarry Pelouze, representing the Victory Jubilee andMemorial Committee, and George W. Whyte, represent-ing the Red Cross. The transport Otsegobrought home Companies A, B, C and D and Headquar-ters and Medical detachment of the 78th Divisionon May 26. The 111th Machine Gun Battalion arrivedin Hoboken on May 22 on the transport Iowanand was sent to Camp Dix for demobilization.
