A Chinese bronze sword with a gold-inlaid grip,Warring States period ,5th/4th century Double-edged,heavily ridged white bronze blade with some heavy green encrustations,as found,and bluish cracks in places. Bronze quillons,disk hilt,and disk pommel have lavish,completely preserved gold inlays. Heavy,greenish patina,the gold threads encrusted in places. Grip has remnants of the wooden grip scales and fabric wrapping. Length 56 cm. Remarkably well-preserved bronze sword of extremely high quality manufacture.
