A front view of the oak hook-tip (Watsonalla binaria) resting on a leaf in a garden habitat. The flight period is May to June and again in August with a double brood each year. This species is a member of the drepanidae family and is found throughout Europe except the far north. The larval food plant is oak. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in September.
