Edwin Grant Conklin (1863-1952), US zoologist and biologist. Conklin spent most of his career as professor of zoology at the University of Pennsylvania (1896-1908) and Princeton University (1908-1935). He worked as an editor on the 'Journal of Morphology', the 'Biological Bulletin', and the 'Journal of Experimental Zoology'. He also helped to promote science as a trustee (1937-1952) of Science Service, now the Society for Science and the Public. He was awarded the John J. Carty Award for the Advancement of Science (1943) from the US National Academy of Sciences. The Edwin Grant Conklin Medal was founded in 1955 in his honour.
