DB Cargo’s diesel locomotive departing from the signal box at Rainford Jct signal box on 10th May 2016 on the line between Wigan and Kirkby. The locomotive is about to enter the single track section of line that runs from here past the sidings to Kirkby. The locomotive was on a driver road learning trip from Wakefield to the Potter Group sidings at Knowsley near Kirkby. These training runs are in preparation for a freight service to start running in the future that will carry containerised non recyclable rubbish from the Liverpool area to Teesside to burn in a energy plant. The train was running under the head code of 0Z70
