Skin and Mesh white; holds its crisp quality for a considerable period. Glowing Ball 24 A forcing type good for field planting as well as in greenhouse. Tops small. Roots round, with slender tap root, brilliant scarlet. Flesh white, sweet, crisp. Half Long Scarlet 26 An attractive, medium early sort, for home gardens and for truckers. Roots 3y2 inches long, inch thick; tapered at tip, carmine-red in color; rlesh white, brittle, and crisp. LONG SCARLET, SHORT TOP 27 A standard sort for home gardens, and for truckers. Philadelphia White Box 28 A popular, medium early, white variety for forcing, or outside culture. Roots round, slightly top-shaped, ls inches in diameter; flesh white, very crisp, fine grained and tender.
