Theodose Du Moncel (1821-1884). 1867 illustration of the French physicist Theodose de Moncel. De Moncel is best known as an advocate of the use of electricity. He also invented many electrical devices and was one of the founders of the Societe Nationale des Sciences Naturelles et Mathematiques of Cherbourg, France.
