Kenya: THESE BEAUTIFUL images show a herd of elephants with the younger members covered in mud following an aerial mud display. One image shows an elephant throwing mud over itself, creating a cloud of mud as it tries to cool itself. Another image shows a pair of sibling elephants walking together, covered in the aftermath of their mud bath. African elephants can grow to 13 feet tall and weigh around tonnes, living up to 70 years. These images were captured by regional marketing manager and photographer Pamalka Pramudith Bandara Bodikotuwa (35) in Tsavo National park, Kenya using a Nikon Z6 camera. ?These elephants enjoy their freedom to the max. So, I think I got lucky to capture a few awesome moments with these gentle giants,? said Pamalka. ?It captures the moments in time and when I review them later it takes me back to that place and time. ?Also, I love to see how people react to my images. Most of the time positive responses and encouraging ones to be honest. ?We managed a safe distance. We cannot drive off-road in a game drive. So, we were out of danger. ?It just makes me feel how small we are yet, how big do we think we are? ?I felt overjoyed especially with the timing of the sand-bathing elephant and the trunk-twisting giants. ?Always think of the compositions before you shoot. Or maybe if the action happens fast take the shot and then recompose in mediadrumimages/@wildlife_wide_open
