View through the Monterey Cypress at Point Lobos Natural Reserve near Carmel in California, copied by an artist.

Los Lobos on the rocky shores of California has one of the only two natural stands of Monterey Cypress left on earth. The other is just across the bay at Cypress Point. The coast at Los Lobos is a haven for wildlife, especially sea lions and sea otters. In the 18th century it had a whaling station to hunt the whales passing along the Californian coast. Its a popular place with artists, an example of which is seen in this image.
