The approach album contains twelve thick cardboard sheets with a total of 93 images: 68 photos and 25 lithographs. Around each passe-partout, four frames have been drawn in a red pen. The photos give a picture of sights in the cities of The Hague, Scheveningen, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Leiden and - as the only non -Dutch city - Cologne. There are also photo productions from well -known paintings by Rembrandt, Paulus Potter, Jan Steen, Barthelomeus van der Helst and Domenicus van Tol.
