Accident scene on the A30 dual carriageway in Cornwall, where a car has overturned and the road blocked by emergency services while they provide roadside medical treatment to the driver before recovering the vehicle. The accident occurred on the westbound A30, the main route into Cornwall. The scene is near Launceston, about a mile from the Devon/Cornwall border. It happened at about 2pm on Saturday 28th July, the second weekend of the school summer holidays. Saturday is the usual "cross-over" day for holiday accommodation, the day when traffic is busiest during the morning and early afternoon. Hence the queue of stationary traffic. The road was closed for a couple of hours. The driver was trapped in the car for about 20 minutes, then taken to hospital. Happily, he only suffered minor injuries, some cuts and bruises.
