Datchet, UK. 1st January, 2024. Swans and ducks swim through sewage. Thames Water have been discharging sewage from their Windsor Sewage Treatment Works into the River Thames again today. Some of it has collected on the River Thames in the village of Datchet in Berkshire. Water companies are legally allowed to discharge storm water including sewage into rivers during times of heavy rain, however, environmentalists are keen for the law to change to stop sewage dumping in our river and seas.
