Soda shop, malt shop, soda fountain, lunch counter. A 1950s, cleanly-designed, long counter with about 20 rotating stools for seating. This shop doesn't have the really fancy art deco design of earlier years, but is lighter and brighter. The first soda fountain counters were created in the late 1800s, in pharmacies. The pharmacist served his customers mixed syrups and flavors mixed into chilled soda water, sometimes as a healthy drink and sometimes simply as a refreshing drink.
