Thepacket ship Tonawanda, of the Cope Line, Capt. Theodore Julius, wascaptured upon October 9th, 1862, by the famous Alabama and bondedfor S8o,ooo. This bond was never enforced.! They are as follows: Itasca, gunboat, 507 tons. Served during Civil War withWest Gulf Squadron; engaged in operations against FortsJackson and St. Philip, April 20th-24th, 1862; actively engagedon Mississippi River, sharing in a number of captures; tookprominent part in Battle of Mobile Bay, Aug. sth, 1864. Soldin New York, November 30th, 1865. Juniata, sloop-of-war, 1240 tons. Commissioned Decem-ber 4th, 1862; served with the North Atlantic Squadron,cruising on coast, and taking a number of prizes; took partin attacks on Fort Fisher, December 24th, 1864, and in Janu-ary, 1865; cruised on coast of Brazil and west coast of Africa,1866; out of commission, 1867-68. Sold, March 2Sth, 1891. Sciota, gunboat, 507 tons. Served with West Gulf Squad-ron ; took part in engagement with Forts Jackson and , April 24th,
