As the sun breaks the horizon behind it, the Adler Planetarium prepares for a new day. It was established in 1930 and was America's first planetarium. The planetarium is historically and scientifically significant. It is both listed on the US National Register of Historic Places and also is a US National Historic Landmark. It is part of Chicago's Museum Campus that also includes the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum of Natural History.
