Das Menin-Tor-Denkmal erinnert an die Menschen, die in den drei Schlachten um Ypern gefallen sind. Im Inneren des Tores stehen die Namen von 54896 Toten der Schlacht(en) um Ypern. Die fast komplett zerstoerte Altstadt wurde nach dem 1. Weltkrieg mit deutschem Geld wieder aufgebaut. / View through the Menin Gate Memorial to the tower of the cloth halls. The old town was almost completely destroyed after Worl War I and rebuilt with German money. The Menin Gate Memorial reminds of half a miliion soldiers who died in the battles of Ypres. GT
