Pollen cloud around a yew tree (Taxus baccata). The cloud is comprised of thousands of pollen grains, each of which contains a male gamete. They disperse in an attempt to fertilise an ovule and produce a seed. The yew is an extremely long- lived and slow-growing tree of European origin.
