Stroud, UK. 14th January 2017. The annual Wassail festival takes part on the streets of Stroud outside the Subscription Rooms and Museum in the Park. Wassailing is an ancient tradition where performers gather to banish old demons and welcome in the new year wishing all 'Wass-ail', or 'Good Health'. Morris dancers, Mummers' plays and winter jollity combine to a chorus of singing and traditional folk songs which entertain and amuse the crowds.
