In addition, thepatient is not protected from catching cold when the largequantity of warm fluid is being removed. The operation of ovariotomy having been decided on, thepatient is got ready in the way already described, by the adminis-tration of a dose of castor-oil, and light food the day before. 352 OVARIOTOMY. This amount of preparation is amply sufficient for the greatmajority of cases. Should there be any intercurrent disease,such as an attack of acute bronchitis, or any of the conditions.
