The chainsaw carvers use wood (sometimes huge bits) to produce beautiful carvings of up to 20 feet high. when each one becomes a sought after work of art. The 9th English Open Chainsaw Carving Competition. Competitors arrived from across the globe to take part in a series of competitions -creating art with chainsaws. Carvers came from Croatia, Denmark, Equador, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden and the USA, along with home grown carvers from England, Scotland and Wales! Each piece is carved from reclaimed timber from a number of sustainable sources throughout England. The wood is hand selected from sawmills, salvage, tree surgery and garden clearance specialists for its character, colour and suitability for carving.
