An Italian large baselard, circa 13th/14th centuries. Heavy, double-edged blade with double fullers on both sides of the upper third. There is a cross mark stamped into one side, and silver inlaid scroll decoration on the ricasso. The tang has three holes and the typical pommel in the shape of a flattened ring.
