Padirac Cave, historical artwork. This limestone cave, accessed via the 36-metre staircase at right, is located near Gramat, in the Lot region of France. The rim is 99 metres in circumference and around 35 metres across. It forms part of the geology of the Massif Central region, and officially opened to tourists in 1899. Artwork from the third edition of 'Les Entrailles de la Terre' (1902) by French author Eugene Caustier.
