The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture designed by Antony Gormley. It is located in Gateshead Tyne & Wear in North East England. It is a steel Structure of an angel with wings spaning 54 metres across and that are degrees forward. Standing on Birtley Hill it is viewed from the A1.
