A silver mounted Ottoman shamshir, circa 1800. Fine wootz Damascus, single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and remnants of a brass-inlaid cartouche, "Work from Isfahan" on the obverse side. Silver quillons and grip frame with a shagreen leather covered grip. Wooden scabbard covered with shagreen leather and with silver mountings bearing punch-marked floral designs.
