A wonderful Easter business here was followed by another boom week and last week everyone was kept busy in the Columbus flower shops. James McKellar and Thomas J. Ludwig re- ported the largest business in years and Mr. Gibson, a retired florist, who made the rounds of local stores several times during the rush, tells the writer that James McKellar, Mrs. M. A. Wil- son and the Linden Floral Co. were the busiest stores on the Friday and Sat- urday before Easter, but all the stores seemed to have their share of work. Stock has been excellent, with few complaints forthcoming. At the store of Mrs. M. A. Wilson the force worked all night the Saturday before Easter, lint the other florists arranged in such a way that this was not necessary. The opening of the James theater was a grand occasion and it seemed that every florist here was represented in the beautiful display of flowers which covered the mezzanine floor and filled the entrance. The structure was erected at a cost, it is said, of $1,125,- 000 and the flowers on the opening night cost in the neighborhood of $1,700. The display consisted of bas- kets of gorgeous blooms and unusual designs ranging from immense vases OAK PARK, ILL. iFiLon^nsir AVENUE STATE BANK BOTUMNG Member F. T. D. OAK PARK, ILL.
