These rails, however, are so constructed as•only to take up space which is occupied by the sash frame 011 theinside of the car. They do not interfere with the light of thecar nor are they visible from the outside. The shades may bepulled down in a groove inside of the hand rails, and the wintersections placed in position without any interference. By usingthis construction the side of the car, when in the closed form, is not defaced by the removal of the hand rails. As an open car this construction is said topossess all the features of the very best carsof that type. The seats, when converted, canalways be used to ride facing the front. Onesmall section of sash remains intact at eachcorner, so that proper anchorage may be ob-tained to prevent the wrack or straining whichmight possibly
