East Anacapa Lighthouse
Though the Channel islands posed a serious threat to shipping and accounted for many shipwrecks and loss of life the first lighthouse was constructed as late as 1912 which was at first unmanned but a fresnel lens manned station was constructed in 1932 despite the obvious engineering difficulties
