The precipitous walls ofcliff soften into downs of limestone, which die in the rollingplain beyond Arpajon, where, thirteen miles away, onelovely hill, broken from the chain, and larger and morelovely than its fellows, rises soft and blue, shaped like thebreast of Ceres.
