, Sop Ruak, Chiang Rai, Thailand - Als Goldenes Dreieck bezeichnet man die Region im Grenzgebiet der Staaten Laos, Thailand und Myanmar. Hier muendet der Ruak in den Mekong. Diese Region ist bekannt fuer den Anbau von Schlafmohn und ein Synonym fuer die Opium- bzw. Heroinherstellung und den Drogenhandel in Suedostasien. Auch diente dieser Ort des oefteren als Filmkulisse wie fuer James Bond. GT
