Alloway , Ayrshire Weathervanes on the Poets Path at Burns Heritage park telling the story of Tam o Shanter. Tam leaves in a drunken stupor from the local pub on his trusty steed Meg and encounter the devil and witches at Alloway Auld Kirk, where he is chased over the Auld Brig and his horse looses her tail. An attractive pedestrian pathway connects Burns Cottage with the main Museum site. Along the way you can spot creative ironwork signage crafted by Timorous Beasties,

Poet’s Path is a connecting walkway and grassed area connecting the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum site with Burns Cottage. The Path runs parallel with Alloway Street, forming a narrow strip of public amenity parkland between the B7024 Alloway road and recreation areas at Cambusdoon sports club.
